This is the one of the live takes we did on John Kennedy's XFM London Radio show back in 2012. We met John that year after our show at The Great Escape in Brighton. Afterwards, this is what he said:

"Captain Beefheart’s Magic Band sprung to mind as did Tom Waits then the passion of American Music Club’s Mark Eitzel but there was a humour here too; the band smiling at their own strange twists and turns. Jazz, rock’n’roll, folk picking, punk gang vocals and chain gang hollers colliding with singer songwriter nakedness then floating off on Godspeed style sonic journeys. My favourite band. We need to demand them to come back as they are amazing live, really amazing".

Back to the river, the river were we met in that empty winter city. Where I recognize the sound of a word. There was no confusion.

And I closed the door of the motel aisle. I walked alone the melted ice, bought a six hundred page book and I wrote “I love you” twice.

Two blocks later, an ancient looked at me right in the eye, made a toast with a tree and yelled from his wheelchair:

"Keep going, get hurt".
